Inventory Rules for WooCommerce gives you reliable quantity control for WooCommerce products and variations. The free plugin handles minimum quantities, maximum quantities, increments, global defaults, product/variation rules, cart validation and WooCommerce Store API quantity limits.
Before you begin
- WordPress 6.5 or newer.
- PHP 8.0 or newer.
- WooCommerce installed and active.
- Inventory Rules for WooCommerce installed and active.
Install the free plugin
- Install and activate WooCommerce.
- Install and activate Inventory Rules for WooCommerce.
- Open Inventory Rules → Settings.
- Configure your global defaults.
Configure your first rule
Start with a simple product rule. In the WooCommerce product editor, find the Inventory Rules panel and choose whether the product should inherit the global defaults or use a custom rule. Set a minimum, maximum and quantity increment as needed.
Global defaults vs product rules
Global defaults provide a convenient baseline for products that inherit them. A product or variation can instead use its own custom rule when you need more specific purchasing control.
When you need Premium
The optional Premium add-on extends the free plugin with category rules, presets, bulk editing, customer roles, scheduled rules, advanced conditions, analytics, diagnostics and other advanced tools.
Next step
Once your basic setup is working, continue with Quantity Rules to understand exactly how minimums, maximums and increments behave.
